I read it and would consider it just poor journalism - the argument is since you wear a tie for work, you should also drive something fancy in order to be successful. Total BS - ask Alice Walton and Warren Buffet.

Considering what I drive and what i do, I am so off brand.

Warren Buffet does at least favor full-size Cadillacs, though he holds onto them for ages.

Wear a tie for work? What is this, 1950?

The thing is, “rolling up in style” for a meeting is a myth IMO . More like, park in a parking garage, walk a quarter mile, enter office building, and nobody has a clue what mode of transportation you utilized to get there.
Oh, and how about at the end of a business dinner when the valet rolls up in your cool car and all your colleagues see you hit the road in style? Nah, if it is a dense enough urban area to require valet parking, your colleagues left in Ubers 15 minutes ago.
So, not only does nobody care, and not only does nobody pay attention, but nobody even has a chance to see what crapcan or supercar you drive. Just drive what you like, duh.

I drive my car through the conference room wall whenever I have a meeting, so my choice of car is actually very important to my brand.
